We Are Being Lied To!

What would you think if I told you we are being lied to by our medical doctors, the FDA, JAMA and most importantly BIG PHARMA?

What if you were to find out that most of the ingredients and the foods themselves are outlawed in other countries, yet in America we are being told they are safe?

Are you surprised?

So, what does all this have to do with dementia disease?

Our Soils Are Depleted!

Soil mineral depletion is nothing new.

In fact, much of the information about soil degradation and mineral depletion is documented by our own government and available on line.

Soil corrosion and degradation was a concern in a report which documented this issue from studies conducted between 1937-1939 and published in 1940.  Since then the problems have only gotten worse.

An article in Scientific American, titled “Dirt Poor: Have Fruits and Vegetables Become Less Nutritious?” sheds a lot of light on this subject.

“What can be done? The key to healthier produce is healthier soil. Alternating fields between growing seasons to give land time to restore would be one important step. Also, foregoing pesticides and fertilizers in favor of organic growing methods is good for the soil, the produce and its consumers. Those who want to get the most nutritious fruits and vegetables should buy regularly from local organic farmers.” this is an excerpt from the above referenced article.

Even the Bible tells us to allow the land to rest every seven years so that it can be replenished. Many years ago, this was the practice but it has long since been abandoned.

What Our Bodies Need!

There is documented evidence that the body needs a minimum of 50-90 nutrients per day to maintain health. Some of these the body can manufacture from the foods we eat. Many must be obtained by daily supplementation for optimal health.

If our soils are insufficient to supply the plants with the proper nutrients in the proper balance, are we getting all that we need from food alone, for optimal health?

Have you heard your doctor say, if you eat a healthy diet you’ll be OK and you don’t need to take supplements/vitamins or minerals?

That statement simply isn’t true!

Now, if your doctor does believe in supplementation and tells you,” you can take any of the multi vitamins that are available in the drug store” he is again misinforming you.

Most of the multi vitamins you find in stores contain man-made chemicals that the human body cannot assimilate them properly.  They are very low in the potency and therefore, don’t work as they should.

So what does this have to do with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease?

What does this have to do with care-giving?


It is predicted that by 2030, 20 per cent of people over 65 will have dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease.  Dementia is the sixth leading cause of death in America! That number will only grow as the number of people affected grows.

We know that dementia is not a memory problem. Many people believe that a failing memory and concentration is part of the ageing process. This simply is not true. A Word About Homocysteine Levels and B-Vitamins

What are they and what do they have to do with dementia?

Increased homocysteine levels, (an amino acid) are not only present in heart disease, but can predict and show the cause of the type of brain damage seen in dementia/Alzheimer’s disease.  There is also evidence that with increasing age, a lack of B vitamins, especially B12 is poorly absorbed.

A research study has shown that higher levels of homocysteine (an amino acid) increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. In a recent randomized trial, researchers investigated the role of B vitamins in regulating levels of homocysteine. They wanted to test if lowering homocysteine through taking high doses of vitamin B for two years could reduce the rate of brain atrophy in people with pre-existing mild cognitive impairment (MCI).

MRI scans were performed at the beginning of the study and again after two years. The scans were used to calculate the rate of brain atrophy each year.

Treatment with B vitamins had positive notable effects on the levels of homocysteine in the blood, reducing it by 22.5 percent. Levels of homocysteine increased by 7.7 percent in the placebo group. Treatment with B vitamins for a period of 24 months led to a reduction in the rate of brain atrophy. After the age of the participants was taken into account, the rate of shrinkage in people receiving the vitamins was 30 percent less than in the placebo group.  The effect was greater in people who were more compliant with taking their nutrients and in those who started with the highest levels of homocysteine. The researchers also found that, overall, the safety of vitamins was good with no adverse events.


We need to be properly nourished with a proper diet and supplementation. The best way to ensure that we are receiving proper information is to seek a naturopathic or holistic doctor.  Allopathic physicians do not believe that the body has the capacity to heal itself and will most likely give a pill to treat symptoms rather then determine the root cause of an ailment and treat the cause.
